How to put an inside baby to sleep.

34w 4d

Welcome SITS peeps, so glad you decided to stop by! Feel free to have a looky-see and leave some love!! (Can I say how excited I was to see my little blog up there in lights? Okay, on the sidebar?!)

We went to see the Dark Knight on Friday evening after realizing we were probably two of the last people on the face of the earth that hadn't done so. My assumptions were somewhat right since the theater was a lot more empty than I thought it would be for a 7pm Friday showing just a week after the release. I will say that the movie was wonderful and the acting was breathtaking, especially by one Heath Ledger, so if you are now one of the last people left that has not contributed to the economy by letting your local theater steal your most recent paycheck, please do so. This does have to do with Baby Luc, I'm getting to that.

This was probably the first movie that BL has been to since he could hear well. Also, the fact that the sixteen year old running the film upstairs was obviously smoking crack and felt the need to BLAST the volume (am I old or what?) probably helped a little too. I am not kidding you when I say that BL was doing a combination of ninja moves, disco dancing and forward rolls for the entire 2.5 hours that we were in the movie. He is sure to come out a Batman fan.
Also, it was stifling in there. What ever happened to freezing out movie patrons to keep them from wanting to snuggle up with some milk and a blankie? This probably added to the fact that since mom was so hot, BL was sure do be doing some fire dancing on the inside. So much that he caused my thumb to start twitching uncontrollably. Very strange.

After we left the movie, BL just stopped moving. Zonked out, completely exhausted. All day Saturday, all I got were tiny movements here and there, I am sure just minor comfort adjustments. Nothing like the usual ninja baby moves. Then Sunday morning, same thing, fluffing of the placenta pillow and back to sleep he went. He did not wake up for disco practice until we went swimming and he was forced to float in there. By around 5pm last night he was back to his old shenanigans, trying to bust out the side of my stomach and doing it for all to see. We are going to purchase our new camcorder tonight, so I am hoping to be able to catch some footage of ninja baby in the next week to post here.

Stay tuned for some exciting news/schtuff to look at possibly sometime today! Oh, I am such a tease!

A countdown of sorts.

25w 6d

*-1 day until I realize I have cankles.
*0 days until I feel Baby Luc's first bout of hiccups. Felt while pooping. He must have gotten a little too excited about all the extra room.
*3 days until the Sex and the City movie comes out. Huge fan right here. I WILL be wearing my t-shirt on Friday. If it fits.
*6 days until we take our Infant CPR class.
*9 days until I am officially in my third trimester. Holy getting close Batman.
*13 days until we meet the pediatrician.
*17 days until my next doctor's appointment and the ever-so-fun glucose test.
*19 days until Paul's first Father's Day.
*27 days until Paul's 29th + 2 birthday.
*39 days until my first shower. Baby shower that is, I shower-shower every day folks. Believe it or not.
*43 days until my next hair appointment and next hair cut.
*46 days until my second shower. Again, BABY shower.
*76 days until our wedding anniversary. Awwww.
*84 days until my last hair appointment that I will still be pregnant at.
*99 days until Baby Luc is due. If he is not out by now he will be served with an eviction notice.

In unrelated news, we are nearing a CODE RED. I will keep you posted.

Seen and Heard

24w 4d

  • Me getting a little too excited when talking about a local restaurant's angel food cake martinis.
  • A "more mature" woman making faces (not the good kind) at a baby shower because the guest of honor "isn't big at all" and rolling eyes/giving a look of concern/scrunching nose. When are people going to realize that pregnant women do not fit into a size category and are all individuals, thus carrying each baby differently?
  • A certain brother-in-law (whom I do not believe reads this blog) asking me AGAIN what the baby's name is, har har har.
  • Me telling said brother-in-law "Homer" and then changing my mind and telling him "Steve" (after brother-in-law). This game is fun. :o)
  • Me lasting all of 5 minutes after getting home Friday night before diving into a large box that was delivered. BEDDING! Let the nesting begin!!
  • Paul canceling plans that we had this coming Saturday to give me a day to relax. Who has two thumbs and the best husband ever? This girl.
  • Binx closing his eyes and turning his head away from Paul during a spat, showing us that he too knows how to ignore-when-annoyed.
  • Me grumbling all morning because I have a dentist appointment tomorrow.
  • A certain small someone having 4am disco parties without his mom's permission.
  • Two pregnant women discussing the size and color of their nipples on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We so crazy!
  • Me getting confused after reading one of my weekly pregnancy emails. I am in my seventh month (at 25 weeks) now? I thought 27 weeks was the seventh month. Confuzzled.
  • Me panicking after reading said email. Holy shit.

From a dragon to a turtle.

19w 5d

Some days the baby is so active, others he chooses to sleep all day only waking up to kick me a couple times in the bladder to let me know it's time to pee. I think today will be an active day. In between snooze button hits this morning, (get your dialing fingers ready) I rolled onto my back for a couple minutes (gasp!) because my right side was giving me sciatica issues and my left arm was asleep from laying on it all night. Once on my back, the baby went crazy. I imagine him flailing his arms and legs like a turtle that is stuck on his back. Poor thing.

Of course, being the nice mommy that I am, and not wanting to get up yet, I rolled back onto my now limp and lifeless left arm for a couple minutes. I think the baby ninja then did some SUPER RAD flips because by the time I got to the shower, he was kicking me by my belly button. Usually it is nothing but crotch and bladder kicks.

A couple random thoughts for today:
1. Juno is released on DVD today. GO RENT/BUY IT. I am serious. Such a wonderful movie. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Juno
2. Why do people STILL not understand that you are supposed to slow down in a school zone? There was a crossing guard that gave her life last week because a dump truck came barreling through a school zone and almost hit a 4th grader crossing the street.

3. Only one more day to get your Baby Luc gender vote in! Friday is the day! I will be posting tomorrow about what will go down that day in regards to this blog.

4. Belly Button Watch 2008 Update: Still an innie. VERY close to the edge though. If I pull upwards on the top of the belly button, it is then even with the rest of my stomach. Soon people, very soon.
