Moving on...soon!
I am going to go on. I promise. BUT I am happy to announce that on Mason's first birthday, I will be moving on...to another link, a new look, a new name and some new content. I will explain more later, but I will say that you need to check out this blog, because it is one of my best friends and also the wife of the brilliant person who keeps coming up with some sweet ass blog names. And oh yeah, she is about to bust TWO babies out of her. Enjoy!

Part Two! (aka SEE I didn't forget)
Sassy Formula Dispenser. I had another brand with only 3 compartments, but then I found this one with FOUR! Mason typically drinks 4 bottles a day now so this is perfect. I fill it up every morning so it is ready for the day. It is so much easier to dump the powder into the bottles from this thing than from the stupid scoop. It is also super convienient to throw in the diaper bag for outings as well.
Fisher Price Space Saver Highchair. I hump this thing daily. It doesn't take up any room (hence the name) and is extremely easy to clean PLUS it turns into a booster seat. LASTLY, it is not obnoxious color
Wet bags. I use one from Wet Happened? These are perfect to have in your diaper bag. I have two since I rotate two diaper bags. I use them for dirty diapers, soiled clothes, wet bathing suits, food containers, dirty bibs, spoons, etc. I of course wash it (IN WITH THE LAUNDRY!) after soiled items have been in it. Come on now. You need some. Get them.
Again, all pictures are from Babies R Us and Amazon dot com. They also represent the actual colors, patterns and whatevers that I have. Not actual size. No one paid me to do this, but I will accept checks in the mail. Email for address. Have a nice day. Go forth and BUY!

Must Haves Part II (errr..part one of a two-part post?)
Infantino Stick and Spin Monkey
Maclaren Quest Mod stroller and Britax Roundabout Convertable Car SeatMy love. Ahhhh the Maclaren, or as I adoringly refer to it: Macky-PooPoodoodlebugNOM. If I could do it all over again, I would have skipped the Graco Snugride carrier and Metrolite stroller and went straight to the Britax car seat (since it's good from birth through booster seat) and the Maclaren Quest. The stroller weighs 12 pounds. TWELVE POUNDS and folds up super small. The car seat is the highest rated, best investment I have ever made. The only issue with my plan would be that you a.)lose the infant carrier, but honestly, you don't go too many places in the beginning and when you do, people want to hold the bayyybeeee so what's the use? and b.) the Maclaren is good starting at 3 months, BUT when you have delicious things like SLINGS! and FRONT-TO-BACK CARRIERS! who needs a damn stroller? You haven't had time to shower in days anyways, you ARE NOT going to the mall. I will say though, I do love the Graco schtuff and still use the Metrolite for beefy-er adventures such as walks around the neighborhood - so he still gets his use.

Stay tuned for part two, where I will discuss my love affair (and possible marriage-ending obsession) with a high-chair, formula dispenser and spring-loaded-baby-holderthingamajiggy among other things.

My Must Haves
For feeding:
If you are breast or bottle feeding, these are some of my favorite products.
The Boppy Pillow. I could not feed without it. Your arms get tired and I am sorry, but I am not about to use just any pillow from my house to feed Mason. This thing is perfect!
Born Free bottles. BPA-free and they come with a nifty little venting system that has never given my little guy tummy issues.
Lanolin. If you are breastfeeding, this should be your best friend. I am constantly lathering this on my nipples and they love me for it.
The First Years Day and Night Bottle Warmer. This is one that people said was a waste but let me tell you something: I never have to venture downstairs in the middle of the night to spend 5 LONG minutes waiting for my bottle of breast milk to heat under running water (and wasting a ton of water in the process). This thing steams my bottles to the perfect temperature in less time than it takes to change a diaper with maybe a tablespoon of water. And I don't have to stand around trying to keep Mason calm while the bottle warms under the faucet.
*breast milk is very touchy and comes with a lot of re-heating rules. Formula feeders may find this product worthless.
For Sleepy-time:
Kidopotamus Swaddle Me blankets. My kid will not sleep unless he is swaddled or being held. I own three of these just in the newborn size. LIFE SAVER.
Nightlights. Any will do. I am a firm believer that blasting bright lights in the middle of the night keeps Mason awake longer. I have learned to do everything by the dim glow of a nightlight.
Graco Sweetpeace swing. Google this one and watch the demo video. I want one for myself. Mason has actually been sleeping in the chair part of it which we took off the swing and put into his crib. My only complaint is that the whole thing runs by way of being plugged into an outlet EXCEPT for the vibration option which is battery powered. Mason loves vibration and I am considering taking stock in batteries.
Diaper Duty:
PinXav. Mason has/had a mean case of diaper rash and this stuff is the shit. Normal diaper creams only have 11-13% zinc oxide in them, this stuff has 30%. Most places keep it behind the counter in the pharmacy, so ask for it.
Liquid Maalox. I know, strange right? Well after Aunt Chrissy's rash remedy (bacatracin zinc before the diaper cream) stopped working, the pediatrician let me in on this gem. Just dab some Maalox on the rash before the diaper cream to neutralize the acid on the rash. Works beautifully!

It's a MAJOR AWARD!
I won AGAIN! I am seriously flattered that I was given an award for the second time in two weeks!
My first award came from the Monogram Chick. If you have never visited her blog, you are SERIOUSLY missing out. I mean it. I want everything on there and was lucky enough to actually receive a couple items as a gift from Colleen at my baby shower. Speaking of the devil (I keed), that's where my second award came from! Colleen has been my cyber and real life friend for well over a year now. We actually got married on the same day, pretty much chat every single day AND she will be guest-blogging on here when this baby finally decides to come out. Last but not least, she used a blog to help her successfully quit smoking. If you haven't read the journey from the beginning, I suggest you do!
Now onto my noms:
My first award goes out to Erin at Baby Fat. I have also known Erin for over a year now and she is one of the sweetest people ever. She also sometimes tries to give away boxes of condoms on her blog. Hilarious!
Next up is Angie at Seven Clown Circus. I got to know Angie's blog through SITS, which I have been neglecting my duties at recently (bad me). She has some of the cutest kids I have ever seen and is seriously one of the nicest cyber-people I have ever "met". You should definitely check her blog out if you have time!
Even though she will probably never see this, my next nod goes to Suz at Steece's Pieces. I forget how I came across her blog, but she is a QUAD MOM. Need I say more? I will. Her babies just turned one and they are so adorable. I love reading about their life and love going back in her blog and reading about her pregnancy! Fascinating!
Next is Andrea over at Are You Listening? I first met Andrea through the Knot I believe, and continued to "run into" her in cyber-land. She is recently pregnant, so if I haven't made you sick of reading about babies, head over there to witness another baby in the making!
Last but certainly not least is Baby Rabies, another one that will probably never see this as she is one of those people who I classify of as more of a "professional blogger". She has an ACTUAL URL and ads and shit. Anywho, she is hilarious and you are missing out if you don't read. Trust.
Okay, so for the bloggers who DO see this and want to share the cyber-love, here are the rules:
1. Add the logo of the award to your blog.
2. Add the link of the blogger who awarded you.
3. Nominate at least 5 other blogs.
4. Add those 5 links to your post.
5. Leave a message for your winners on their blogs.
Hope you all had a great hump day! I tried to walk BL out again, but so far to no avail. Less than a week to go!

Lots of news and shout outs!
This weekend went by so fast, which is fine with me, but now I actually feel like I have some things to do to keep me busy! I am finishing BL's room today with some wall decals that I took my sweet time ordering from MichelleChristina's Etsy Shop. I will post pictures when I am done!
In other HUGE news, the Monogram Chick gave me an award! I am so excited as it is my first blogger award. So thank you again, I feel soooo loved!! I will be returning the favor soon to some of my fellow bloggers as soon as I grab a moment to breathe (which is tough these days with a little butt pressing into my ribcage). *I am having some issues getting the award up, I will work on this!*
Another thing I wanted to share was my anniversary present from my wonderful husband (who loves me even more now that we made it through draft day without any labor). A while ago I mentioned how cute I thought these bracelets were from Drama Queen Bows and then I completely forgot about them. Low and behold, he had been saving the link the entire time! I absolutely love it and it makes me smile every time I look down at it. Now if I just had a baby to go with the name!

A welcomed change of pace.
Anyone that knows me knows that I am not a "cutesy" baby person. There are very few "baby-looking items" that I would make my child wear/sleep with/be surrounded with. I am just not into Pooh or Mickey the way others are. I could never live with myself if I forced my child to sleep in a room covered in Pooh bears, it's just not me. I try my hardest to spread the love for more modern items to others as well. You won't see me giving character onesies or ruffled underwear at baby showers. Not this girl.
Here are some recent and one not-so-recent finds of mine that I am completely in love with:
Baby socks from Trumpette:
Seriously, how cute are these? And perfect for newborns. I have read that they run small though, so the 0-12 month fitting size may turn into 0-5 months for your chunky monkey. But that's still a good 5 months of wearing time!

What I Love Now
Confusion has set in and it takes me like 12 minutes just to get the post title and correct week and day measurement up on this thing. I guess now that the BIG Ultrasound is over, I am having trouble remembering what week I am in. "Is it 22 or 21 weeks?" I cannot believe I am approaching 23 weeks officially, going into my 24th week! Crazy how time flies. Now onto the post for today...
What I am loving right now!

Strawberries. Can they smell any yummier right now? Whenever I am even close to the grocery store I have to scoop up 2 containers of these puppies (Buy one, get one free!). I have been buzzing through them (with Paul's help) like mad. I love them!
Sun Chips. Same thing. I don't think I ate more than a Subway-sized bag of Sun Chips between high school and now, but for some reason I cannot pass up these things!Baby Legs. Visit them here. They are like mini leg warmers for babies. There are TONS of patterns to choose from and they are oh-so-cute! I am definitely going to purchase some of these for the little one to wear on the days where he can do with a onesie, but may need some warmth on his legs. And how perfect are these for when he starts crawling?

The Happiest Baby on the Block DVD. I know I have blogged about this book before, but I decided to buy the DVD on Amazon when I heard how helpful it was. And that isn't a lie. The book is wonderful, and I probably would have been fine, but I like a little visual help sometimes. Paul also was thrilled about this since he really doesn't have the time to read a non work-related book at the moment. Plus it's NBA playoff time.
Also in that Amazon shipment was my Shiva Rea Prenatal Yoga DVD. I really wanted to do yoga in this pregnancy and after calling virtually every yoga studio in the area, only to find out all classes are during the week at 10am, I turned to a DVD. This programs kicks meditative ass. There are 3 women to represent each trimester. It is fun, easy and relaxing. Which brings me to my last love: Sleep.
I was doing just fine in the energy department until recently. I think it's because I have been so busy. The yoga did me in last night. I was snoozing on the couch by 9:30 and this morning it took me an extra 10 minutes to get out of bed. I still feel like a zombie. Hopefully with some regular yoga practice I will be able to find some extra energy. Just in time to never sleep again.

From a dragon to a turtle.
Some days the baby is so active, others he chooses to sleep all day only waking up to kick me a couple times in the bladder to let me know it's time to pee. I think today will be an active day. In between snooze button hits this morning, (get your dialing fingers ready) I rolled onto my back for a couple minutes (gasp!) because my right side was giving me sciatica issues and my left arm was asleep from laying on it all night. Once on my back, the baby went crazy. I imagine him flailing his arms and legs like a turtle that is stuck on his back. Poor thing.
A couple random thoughts for today:
1. Juno is released on DVD today. GO RENT/BUY IT. I am serious. Such a wonderful movie. I promise you will not be disappointed!
3. Only one more day to get your Baby Luc gender vote in! Friday is the day! I will be posting tomorrow about what will go down that day in regards to this blog.
4. Belly Button Watch 2008 Update: Still an innie. VERY close to the edge though. If I pull upwards on the top of the belly button, it is then even with the rest of my stomach. Soon people, very soon.

Being pushed beyond my limits?
I usually dream pretty frequently and remember them. Since I have been pregnant, the dreams have gotten increasingly strange but very telling. I always try to look up what my dreams mean when I remember to, and after some pretty vivid dreams last night, I thought I would share.
I remember at one point in my dream last night, getting beat up by another girl. I immediately thought that this could have been related to the fact that I had been watching the horrible video of the teenage girls who decided to beat the living crap out of one of their friends and tape it (they are SO smart). I remembered that in the dream I kept telling the girl beating me up to "Not hit my stomach! I am pregnant!". According to the Dream Moods Dictionary:
To dream that you are beaten, indicates that you need to make some fundamental changes to yourself. You need to make some conscious adjustments and evaluations. Alternatively, it suggests that someone is pushing you beyond your limits.
I find this to be quite interesting because there are some things that I am currently getting ready to adjust and getting ready for a new baby means constantly evaluating yourself and the way you live. I have also felt that some people have been pushing me beyond my limits lately. Beyond my limits of sanity!
I also remember a portion of my dream where I was bleeding very heavily. Obviously this could have been directly related to what happened on Monday and my constant worry about it now. The Dream Moods Dictionary had this to say:
To see blood in your dream, represents life, love, and passion as well as disappointments...To dream that you are bleeding or losing blood, signifies that you are suffering from exhaustion or that you are feeling emotionally drained. It may also denote bitter confrontations between you and your friends. Your past actions has come back to haunt you. Women often dream of blood or of someone bleeding shortly before or during their periods and when they are pregnant.
I am not sure about the past actions part, because I always believe that past actions and decision make a person and one should never have regrets. However, the life, love, passion and disappointment part I guess has some validity. Exhaustion and being emotionally drained, sure. I can't say that I can DIRECTLY connect any of these words to any single experience lately, but I can say that at one point or another I have felt one or more of those feelings.
I just thought those interpretations were interesting and wanted to share.
In other news, Belly Button Watch 2008 is in full effect and it seems that the top is beginning to protrude somewhat. I am going to take pictures this weekend to begin comparisons. Also, we are now down to one week until gender discovery so get those votes in! You have until Wednesday night to vote. I will be treating all readers who come forward and tell me they were right (through comments) to a virtual pat on the back. Was that too obvious? Leave me lovin's people! Have a wonderful weekend.

It's about time!
I cannot even begin to tell you how refreshing it is to see sunshine and be able to put my car windows down! I hope Spring is here to stay because this is great! Do I need another exclamation point? There! We were in Cincinnati this weekend to visit friends and I got to hang out with one of my best friends all day Saturday. What fun can you have with a 5 month pregnant lady you ask? The child-ish and food-related kind. We went to the Newport Aquarium (posting pictures later), candy store, out to eat (twice) and officially busted my IKEA cherry. I am convinced that place is a small slice of what my heaven must look like.
I behaved, only buying things that will benefit our newly-found love of nesting or things for the baby. I got a closet organizer, floating shelf, drawer organizers, curtains, and more! I was going to post pictures from the IKEA website, but I forget the names of the products and they are all Swedish. I got a ton of stuff for around $80. It was a steal. Especially on the floating shelf, which will match the nursery furniture perfectly and is about 3 feet long - only $14.99. Paul didn't get to go so when we go on our mini-babymoon to Pittsburgh I see an IKEA stop in our future.
Ohh here. I found some of the items I bought:

The first is a closet organizer (I got white) that you can buy drawers for as well (I did). The second is actually a DVD storage box that I got to put loose photos in. The last is a tiny picture of the drawer organizers.
More on my Cincinnati trip tonight after I retouch the aquarium pictures that I took. Check back!

Feeling Twitty?
Wednesday, March 26, 2008
I changed my mind.
My mom and I went shopping on Friday night and while perusing around Nordstroms, we came across a wall that had some Petunia Pickle Bottom (PPB) diaper bags. Earlier while in Motherhood Maternity, I spotted the Lemongrass PPB bag and decided that I really didn't like the color in real life. Back to Nordies. I spotted this bag:
My mom loved it as well and....Happy Easter! I am beyond excited! My diaper bag collection is now complete. We now have the mommy + daddy friendly PBK Ultimate bag (which I had to order a new one, missing changing pad), and the stylish PPB Baroque Boxy Backpack.
Look what it does!
So cool! AND the backpack straps detach in case you don't want to use it like that. I am in love with it and can't wait to use it!

In the meantime...
The baby should be able to start hearing outside noises soon, so I have started playing songs for him. I am working on my reader-requested post, but to hold you over, here is one of the songs I played for him yesterday, as well as one of my favorite YouTube videos. If at anytime I feel blue, this usually cheers me up! Happy Monday!
*since the video isn't loading...try THIS.

House Divided
Before I get into today's topic, I wanted to share this with you: Madame Zaritska's Reading. You just answer a few questions, and she tells you about your baby and delivery. Enjoy.
Madame Zaritska's reading
Madame Zaritska, our resident clairvoyant, wants to help you prepare for the arrival of your child. Here she does her best to predict certain aspects of your labor and birth experience.
What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the early evening.
After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 6 ounces, and will be 18-1/2 inches long. This child will have green eyes and dark hair.--
I guess this somewhat makes sense. It will most likely be warm (hello, it's summer), and I have green eyes and dark hair. Hmmm.
Anywho, Paul and I have been going back and forth about this child's future (you know, because we control it). Paul graduated from the University of Akron, I graduated from Kent State. In case you are not aware, these schools are close together and because of that, are rivals. I of course would like to see Baby Luc attend KSU, a not-too-big, not-too-small public university with a rich history and nice campus atmosphere. Paul on the other hand, for some ungodly reason wants the Baby Luc to attend UA, a college in the middle of a city that has weekly gang shooting and a shitty ass basketball team. By-the-way, in case you were unfortunate enough to miss the KSU-UA basketball game last night, Kent whooped on Akron until there was about 1:37 left, their efforts were not enough though and KSU was victorious to clench the regular season MAC Title, AGAIN. That's because Golden Flashes have TALONS. What do Zips have? Pouches.
Talons?
or Pouches?
Where was I? Oh, right, colleges. So Paul and I go rounds in which I insult Akron to my every ability and he tries to insult Kent (to no avail of course). It is fun to think that we will have some say in this, when we most likely will not. I like to think I have the upper hand here. Not because I went to the better of the two schools, but because I have more experience in the college department. I lived the college experience, Paul did not. I attended two different schools (Ohio University and KSU), Paul only attended one. I held VARIOUS majors, Paul didn't explore any options. So, I think I know best here. All hail the Golden Flashes.
I think I am done now. Oh, by-the-way we get to find out what Baby Luc's cousin is tonight! I can hardly wait! Think Pink!

Cue the Baby Mohawk
I stumbled across the COOLEST thing ever last night while purchasing new iTunes. Rockabye Baby! I know you are all probably sitting there reading this saying, "Yeah Tiff, like, DUH. I have known about this like forever". Well, I haven't. When would I need lullabys? So anyways I was browsing for new tunes and while looking on the U2 page, I noticed this:

There are TONS of records including The Eagles, Green Day, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Tool, Nirvana, Metallica, Bob Marley, etc etc etc! This company transforms your favorite rock songs into kid-friendly lullaby songs. After I found these, I of course played the "Do you know what song this is?" game with Paul for about 30 minutes. The website, which you can find here, sells the CDs for $16 each, but they are $10 on iTunes, or you can do what I am going to do and pick your favorites (.99 a song on iTunes) and make your own 'mix tape'.
Even if you aren't pregnant, I highly suggest going and taking a listen. Paul swears he has heard these songs in elevators.
