Lots of news and shout outs!

38w 4d

This weekend went by so fast, which is fine with me, but now I actually feel like I have some things to do to keep me busy! I am finishing BL's room today with some wall decals that I took my sweet time ordering from MichelleChristina's Etsy Shop. I will post pictures when I am done!

In other HUGE news, the Monogram Chick gave me an award! I am so excited as it is my first blogger award. So thank you again, I feel soooo loved!! I will be returning the favor soon to some of my fellow bloggers as soon as I grab a moment to breathe (which is tough these days with a little butt pressing into my ribcage). *I am having some issues getting the award up, I will work on this!*

Another thing I wanted to share was my anniversary present from my wonderful husband (who loves me even more now that we made it through draft day without any labor). A while ago I mentioned how cute I thought these bracelets were from Drama Queen Bows and then I completely forgot about them. Low and behold, he had been saving the link the entire time! I absolutely love it and it makes me smile every time I look down at it. Now if I just had a baby to go with the name!

Last but CERTAINLY not least, a HUGE congrats goes out to faithful readers and real-life friends Dan and Nancy who I *think* had their son this weekend. I received a text Saturday morning that her water FINALLY broke (at 41 weeks!) and she was heading to the hospital. I haven't received the details yet, but I will be doing some super-sleuthing today. CONGRATS guys!! Love you!

Baby Luc Express

34w 1d

I came home yesterday to find a little box in the mail, addressed to all of us. I opened it as soon as I saw it and just after Paul had went upstairs to take a shower. Inside was the cutest train piggy bank, personalized for Baby Luc and painted in the colors that have been forced on him from day one - blue and brown of course. I immediately ran upstairs to show Paul. The train was greeted with it's second smile since being 'unboxed'.

Thank you so much Lauren! We absolutely love it and you should know that it made our day. Especially Paul. It takes a little while usually for both of us to decompress from the work day and get ourselves back into a happy mood. Paul had a rather trying day and I know now that your gift probably saved us from a night of grumpiness!

The train now has settled into its place on Mason's changing table where everyone can enjoy it!

I am off to my doctor appointment now, I hope everyone has a fast Friday workday and a wonderful weekend!

Shower 2 Recap

32w 6d

I am a liar. I know.

Last Saturday was my second (and final) shower at my in-laws house. We did two separate showers because Paul comes from a very large family and there is just no way that one shower would work. The day started out beautiful weather-wise and of course turned gloomy fast with downpours right around gift opening time. This forced us to have to move inside and cram 80 people into a small living room instead of spreading everyone out pool-side. I managed to not sweat too much, although there were a couple 'funny' people that made some gifts especially hard for me to open thus causing me to pit-out.

As for the gifts, again, I can only think of one word: generous. I am simply astounded at the generosity people show. BL pretty much has everything he needs and more. I think I did a pretty good job, considering the size of the shower, getting around and at least talking to everyone for a little bit. I know that at our wedding, there were just too many people and too little time to really individually thank people for coming, so I made it a point to do so on Saturday. The food was wonderful, the company was great and I really am so thankful for all of the hard work that was put into the shower.

There was a special 5 pound guest at the shower, fresh from busting out of the hospital and I FINALLY got to hold her. Kendall came out to see her inside-cousin and give him a little pep talk. You know, a chatty-chat about showers and how to handle all the love and belly rubs, and then a little bit at the end about how to come out in 3 pushes and sleep like a little angel pretty much all the time. Yeah, that's what she told him I am sure. Of course when she came through the door, I kind of got shoved out of the way as the masses made their way to see her and everyone was like "what shower?", but I understand - an outside baby is WAY more fun to look at than someone who is obviously smuggling a bowling ball inside their dress:

Thanks for taking pictures Colleen, I hope you know how much I appreciate it!

Shower 1 Recap

31w 6d

Last Saturday was my first shower, and I have been waiting to write about it in hopes that someone, anyone would have some photos to send to me, but evidently not. So here is a run-down, from my memory:

My mom and sister worked their asses off for this shower and it showed. Everything was beautiful and totally "me". The theme was blue and brown of course and we held the shower in my parent's gorgeous backyard. The weather, like I said before was absolutely perfect. Not hot at all, overcast, PERFECT. I think there were about 30 people there and it was wonderful. I feel like I really got to take the time and talk to everyone that was there. I miss seeing my family A LOT and don't really get the chance to spend that much time with them, so it was nice to see everyone. My Meme (grandma) made it despite recently having surgery and I was so happy to have her there. I had people come from near and far to be there and I felt so lucky to have so many people care about me and this baby.

The food. Oh the food. My mom did a "Tiff's Cravings" theme so there were 2 types of mac n' cheese, mini BBQ hamburgers, a relish tray, veggie tray, fruit, and a make-your-own strawberry shortcake bar. AND my sister bought M&M's and picked out all of the blue and brown ones. Now THAT is dedication and love!

Onto the LOOT. Again, everyone was so generous and Baby Luc will never go naked. This kid has so many clothes, more than me I think - and that's an accomplishment. We also got a lot of the essentials that we needed including our stroller (from Aunt Chrissy and Aunt Denise) that I HAD to put together and play with right away on Sunday morning. I did manage to get a picture of everything before I put it all away, and I want you to notice 2 things sitting on the chair. AWESOME.

Thank you again to everyone for coming and for all of the love and support you have given us!

Our Weekend Part II

23w 5d

On to Sunday, Mother's Day. We had a wonderful breakfast at the hotel with Paul's family. Like I mentioned before, Paul didn't say anything to me all morning while we were packing to leave, or at breakfast. As we were walking towards the car, he confessed that he forgot it was Mother's Day. Silly boy. I hope he realizes that I have a good memory. And that I hold grudges. WHAT? You want to know what my mother-in-law gave me? Sure.

I can't wait to read it. From what I have heard, this lady is bad ass.
Next we drove North to my hometown to see my family. I wasn't expecting anything from anyone honestly. A nice, "Happy Mother's Day!" is all, if ANYTHING I was expecting. I mean, some people wouldn't even classify me as a mother yet, although I beg to differ. Back to the task at hand, I received these wonderful gifts:

Isn't he the cutest?! Thanks again Aunt Michelle and Meme!

This book is so cool. It is full of quotes about children and being a parent. So cool that I might start incorporating it into this blog. Thanks again Quartz fam!

My mom, always the thinker, got BL this TOTALLY AWESOME bib (figure out what city we live close to yet?) and onesie. BL is going to be stylin' for football season and the end (and most important part if you ask Paul) of baseball season.

My mom also got me this Willow figurine. I love the simplicity of Willow Tree people and it looks wonderful on my dresser. I actually completely forgot about this and I was so happy when I opened it! You're the best mom!

I can imagine how my evening posting has totally been messing with your universe, so I promise that I will return to my regularly scheduled posting tomorrow morning. You can thank me later by sending large, expensive, shiny gifts.

I changed my mind.

16w 6d

My mom and I went shopping on Friday night and while perusing around Nordstroms, we came across a wall that had some Petunia Pickle Bottom (PPB) diaper bags. Earlier while in Motherhood Maternity, I spotted the Lemongrass PPB bag and decided that I really didn't like the color in real life. Back to Nordies. I spotted this bag:

My mom loved it as well and....Happy Easter! I am beyond excited! My diaper bag collection is now complete. We now have the mommy + daddy friendly PBK Ultimate bag (which I had to order a new one, missing changing pad), and the stylish PPB Baroque Boxy Backpack.
Look what it does!

So cool! AND the backpack straps detach in case you don't want to use it like that. I am in love with it and can't wait to use it!

Belly and Presents!

13w 2d

Hey look, a Saturday post! I thought it was only fair that I post today since I missed out on yesterday. Paul is doing okay, he is in a lot of pain, but I keep feeding him the pain killers. I have been busy all morning shoveling and cleaning the house and I am in need of a nap now! A couple days ago, we got a package in the mail and I wanted to make sure I gave a shout out to Aaron, Ann, Lauren and Ben for the cute gift! Once the baby comes, I can use this to make an impression of his hand and make an ornament (when he's sleeping of course). So, thank you guys so much - we love it and can't wait to use it!
An of course, the 13 week belly picture. If anything, I think it may have gotten smaller since the bloat is finally going away. Compare for yourself! It's a little close because I had to take this one by myself (it's a little hard for Paul to balance on one leg and take a picture).
Okay. Everyone have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back Monday!
